Quick Cook Releases New Video
Brit Jam 2017
Vybz Kartel's Birthday Bash on January 7 at Dump Up Beach Montego Bay
Dancehall artiste Quick Cook will be releasing a new video for his popular single, 'Dem No Real', on the Success rhythm for Good Good Production.
"It's a great look, just look out for the video brought to you by the Bread Organisation and Good Good Production. The song ah get some major attention right now on radio and in the streets. Quick, quick, quick, quick, quick. No wet bread," he said. The Success rhythm also features Masicka, Vybz Kartel and I-Octane.
Quick Cook is booked to appear on the upcoming October 17 Heroes Day show at Caymanas Bay, a November 12 show at the Lipstick nightclub, and the Benz Red Square show on November 24 alongside Fantan Mojah, Hollow Point and Singa J. He is also booked for a show on October 14 in Spanish Town, St Catherine. Earlier this year, Quick Cook inked a booking and management deal with veteran selector DJ Wayne's label, Purple Skunkz Entertainment. "When it comes to overseas, their ears are very much locked to Quick Cook, especially in Africa, New York and Miami. The comments on YouTube are positive as well and are very encouraging," he said. Other songs to look out for include Nah Bruk Mi Focus, for White Line Records; View My Life, for Konsequence Music; and One Language, a single on the Dog Bark rhythm for Purple Skunk Entertainment.
Noted music and promotions label Good Good Productions has released a brand-new video project from incarcerated dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel.
The video was shot for the single Who Trouble Dem, a track that forms a part of the label's recent dancehall juggling project - the Success rhythm. The single speaks about the age-old subject of jealousy. This time, however, it details someone who faces 'badmind' from friends who he grew up with but who are now unhappy with his success.
The video was directed by Georgia-based film crew HD Genesis Films. Good Good Productions is no stranger to working with Vybz Kartel and has been recording with him since 2010, the year the label itself was officially established. "Kartel's writing style is very different and very unique. He uses certain topics that you wouldn't think could be made into a song and he makes it work. That's what impresses me about his lyrics," Zum, CEO of Good Good Productions, shared. Good Good Productions has also seen recent success with the Cure Pain rhythm project that features Alkaline, Jahmiel, Bugle, Demarco, I-Octane, Kymani Marley, Masicka, Mavado, Vybz Kartel, among others. The label also has upcoming projects that will feature Vybz Kartel and his former Gaza Empire proteges;
"I will be staging Vybz Kartel's Birthday Bash on January 7 at Dump Up Beach Montego Bay. It will feature Vybz Kartel's former students like Tommy Lee, Lisa Hyper, Merital, Blak Ryno, and more. To pre-empt that event, we will be releasing the Vybz School riddim that will feature all these artistes as well," Zum added Who Trouble Dem is available on all digital platforms, including iTunes. The official music video can be viewed on Kartel's Vevo Channel and on YouTube.
